hadda put gram off until tomorrow when they called and said they were coming. cost me a can of paint and a quick weld to insure the sale. no problems..

gonna go buy some food and top off the tank...

I'm too big for it.

and it's verra light and fast, and verra bumpy. my hip would scream at me if I tried to play on it.

two little mexican tree trimmers bought it to race...

I needed the money a lot worse than I needed it. (been sorta trying to sell it for 6 months) the timing was excellent.

there are no events at the arena until mid August...

hmmmmmmmmmm.

oh well...

I dropped the trophy off to mr vw. he was pleased.

and he had an old 72 bus that was headed to Germany to be restored, but had to run enough to make it on and off of the boat.

needed the accelerator pedal remade.

so I fired up the crackerbox welder I keep at his place and found an old door hinge.

problem was, I dint have my helmet. so I couldn't see what I was doing.

I can hear them now when it gets there...

"Hans, you must come see this. look how American farmers fix our buses. he must haf been blind"...

I brought my duds over to mr vw's so I could take a hot shower.

and I brought my hat, gloves and mini-ginder with cutting discs, and redid the bus gas pedal.

I have this thing about little german guys laughing at me...

it's still a gate hinge, but the work is quality, and when they restore it, I didn't screw up anything they will reuse...

they might even appreciate the ingenuity.

gonna go get some gumbo and set up to paint tonight in the shop...

Saw BuckwheatZydeco at the "Rams Head" downtown Annapolis about 9 years ago. Very talented, but terrorized the sound guy.

busy day...

got gram squared away with groceries and prsecriptions. and de-flead Molly moo.

picked up the little riding mower that I had kinda loaned K. (later this turns out to be a good thing)

dropped money in the bank, and went over to mr vw's to re-fill his ink, and print 60 cards for tomorrow's show.

dude picked up the trophy, and was sufficiently wowed that I think I have a winner this year. and I got a pair o battries so tomorrow at the show I can take a pitcher of it...

came home and set the sprinkler going, collected my eggers, and jumped on the rickety old mower.

I got the side yard done, and about 5 circles on the big part of the front yard when she started wheezing and surging. the knocking started out by the road, and the rod went through the block before I could start back for the shop.

I'll push it up to the trailer tomorrow, and load it for scrap...

and I got me a bunch more stumps for the pond. my truck was ass draggin' all the way home.

more coolness for the pond garden. (and more places for potted plants...)

gonna have some leftover gumbo, and then sit down and order a grand worth of convertible parts.

I'm almost done...

got a cool breeze blowing in at about 20- to 25 mph.

gonna go weld on crusty vw's for a while. my blood sugar is up...
