Jason - Yeah, my first post was sarcasm. I take full responsibility for my decisions. (And, remember them fondly) Whether or not rap is responsible for the decline of American youth is the same conversation that was taking place when Elvis first wiggled his hips and made the girls scream. OMG! Cover the children's eyes! And, the Beatles... Don't let the parents of the 60's get started on what THEY did to their innocent little babies.

Seriously, though if the parents have done their jobs, the kids will know right from wrong and even if they hear rappers calling each other names and using profanity, they will know it isn't right.

Open communication early on is critical to helping kids deal with real world influences and peer pressure. Often times it requires being a real pain in the butt. That part is actually kinda fun... Seeing their eyes roll like that. Laughing

Of course it was a joke but it also proved a point.
Those songs did not make you lose your virginity, in the same way that Snoop dogg is not responsible for Billy becoming a Blood'.
Thank you for your posts!

I hold parents responsible for that.

Music, movies, etc don't make you do anything you wouldn't do anyway.

Nice.

How is that nice? It's a broad statment aimed at a wide variety of people. The culture that supports hip-hop is huge and diverse.

Nice = Facetious.
In other words it was a racist and inappropriate remark.
Instead of getting riled up in a purely anonymous community,
I just reply with something equally ridiculous.
Sorry to confuse.
