Hi Imur and Dutchy

Thank you both for your New Year messages.

I can't reply to them other than this way as Able2Know won't
allow me the privilege of meeting their requirements of doing
private PM's.

Perhaps they will read this and get cracking and allow us to
be able to send these private messages (have only been a
member for 2 1/2 years?????).

Anyway Imur, it is so hot here that Sam the cat has taken his
fur coat off and is in the pool trying to become a cool cat. Be
sure to watch our firework display (Sydney) on the tv, I believe
we have Bart Simpson lighting up on the Sydney Harbour Bridge
tonight (as well as an hourglass that turns up and down, so the
rumours say).

And Dutchy, I hope you had a good time away, we missed you,
but now you must get stuck into your puzzles. I am fortunate
to be up to date now and am working my way through the
Starwords book page by page just for something to do.

Anyway, my friends, have a Great New Year's Day and here's to
great puzzles and crosswords, etc, in the year 2008.

Warmest Sydney Regards

Tigiie and Sam

Hi tigiie

Thank you very much for your kind wishes, may I also wish you a Very Happy, and above all Healthy New Year.

Like you, I'm up to date with Lovatts, and keeping cool inside as we're having very hot weather presently.

Will be watching the fireworks from your City tonight, that's for sure, always a great spectacle.

Take care. Regards

Dutchy.

Hi tigiie (and Dutchy),

Thank you for your reply and Many Happy Returns.

Our Billy wants to swap with your Sam. He enjoys the great outdoors twice a day but doesn't have an appetite for the winter winds. Right now I'm struggling to keep him from dancing on this keyboard. DOWN BOY! (as if that's going to work!).

Regards,
Lmur

Hi Imur

Dutchy is having the heat wave along with our state
of Victoria but it is hot here in Sydney too but I really
feel for Dutchy in this heat. Fortunately, their heat is
not coming to us, at least, thats what the weather
bureau is saying.

I have collected Sam's fur coat and have put it in a
box for Billy and it is on the way already. You might
have to send it back for our Winter though.

Have a beer Dutchy, thats on the way too. Me, I like
the white wine but can't drink as I am still not well and
don't need to add anymore unwellness.

Sam and I will see the fireworks tomorrow on the news
as we will both be going to bed early tonight.

Regards
Tigiie

Hi Imur

Just want to let you know that my grandfather and his mother (on my
mother's side) were Irish.

I never met either of them but my mother's maiden name was
Anderson.

I do have a relative in Australia who has researched the family
so I must get in contact with her to find out more information.I
might even get on the phone and ring her now.

Hope Billy is ok, not too cold.

Warmest Regards

Tigiie

Hi tigiie,

Anderson is not a very common name in my neck of the woods (I live in the south west). It's more prevalent in the north, where Scottish settlers arrived 300 years (or so) ago. Of course, the patron saint of Scotland is St. Andrew. Found this page which gives a brief outline of the name.

Anderson

No doubt your relative will have more detailed information than that.

Billy is staying warm and doesn't remain outside for longer than a few minutes these days. He knows on which side his bread is buttered, so to speak!

Always good to hear from you. Still waiting for Sam's coat!!!

Regards,
Lmur
