Just a question... In the colossus cryptic No. 113 one of the answers is appeti-ers. Nearly all the dictionaries use the letter z but one or two use the letter s. Do Lovatts prefer the British spelling or are they pretty easy going in British/US variants?

Hi catgirl

From my experience Lovatts will accept both where applicable.

Yes they do accept either, but being Australian I always opt for the british spelling

Thanks for that. I think I'll go with the British spelling. Cryptic done! It would be great if Lovatts had more cryptic competitions. They drive me crazy but are so satisfying to finish. Happy Christmas to everyone on this forum. Thanks for all your help over the year with a HUGE thanks to Dutchy, Tuesday and mrsgreen. Very Happy
