It's the 5th and 6th of June next year. To celebrate Prince turning 50. Weekender with boat party down the Thames. Can't wait. Anybody care to join me? Barry the mod perhaps?

Sounds like fun, but I'm not really into boats so I'll give it a miss.

I once took a girl up the Humber, but she didn't want to repeat the exercise as it made her legs go all wobbly. Very Happy

I heard that rumour as well.

Apparently he wants all his young passengers to dress as pirates at the disco, and has offered to hold their crutches while they eat their finger buffet.

Rubbish, Dorothy! (the bit about being "common")

Spoilt little buggers with silver spoons in their mouths! Evil or Very Mad

Did they have to struggle for anything, ever?

Hmmmm ... Rolling Eyes

(psst .... come & live in Oz! Royalty & all the hangers-on mean nought! People think they're funny & silly! Laughing )

Sorry for the diversion (but I couldn't help myself!)

Back to your prince with a capital "P" ....

Well, given their advantages in life (at considerable cost to British tax payers - many not remotely rich!) I think it's fairly reasonable to expect a bit more (of public benefit) from them.

No, the blame lies entirely with Durex PLC.

Anybody who doesn't think that the two Princes have extremely difficult and tough jobs to do is simply a silly bigoted fool.

There is no cost to the British taxpayer that we are not willing to pay because we see it as a good investment. They provide excellent value for money in a number of respects.

The tailor's dummy lookalike who has recently been elected in Aussie is hardly a recommendation for republicanisn. And neither is the line up of hopefuls in the American presidential race.

If others want the slickest salesman to be heads of state good luck to them but making cheapskate, snidey remarks, notable for their banality, about our arrangements is hardly likely to lay a glove on the institutions we hold dear.

What institutions, Spendius? That night club that they're always spilling out of?

Those are photo-ops. It is part of their duty to provide material for the Mrs Grundys of this world to exercise their rage upon otherwise it might take a more sinister route.

And it is an onerous duty as well. I would be up in Balmoral playing with the apprentice housemaids.
