I need to make a spahgetti bridge for a school Very Happy

The bridge is one of these weight tests, but the weight is going on top so the bridge has to be flat on top.

What would be the best way to construct a bridge to hold a maximum weight? (And efficiency if possible... aka lower mass of bridge)

put the spaghetti in compression or tension only. No bending (moment). Wait a minute, if the spaghetti is cooked, put only in tension.

I would recommend a truss, with the web down if it is ro be flat on the top.

Absolutely. You dould use gumdrops as the nodes. BTW take inspiration from platonic solids (geometry).

Bridge Structural Design
Curious :-)

Does the weight of the bridge play a factor in this Challenge.?
Do you have to use only spaghetti?
Can you use something else for the connections vs the structural members?

I had a similar test in coolege too. However, we were alowed to use any material, but the bridge had to weigh as little as possible.

What about utilizing an Arch Truss Bridge, or take a look at the site below.
This site shows using toothpicks, which are slightly similar to uncooked spaghetti.

Good Luck!
