Hi Imur

Thank you for that quick answer.

Not looking forward to Christmas as I have
been sick for some time off and on and some
days are better than others and one day just
runs into another at the moment.

It is also my birthday so it means another year
to add on. I have never had a birthday as
Christmas Day has always had preference.

I think I will be low key this year and have a quiet day.

I am just giving family money this year so that they
can buy whatever they want and they will continue
to give me cat "everythings" as they know I love cats
but I am trying to declutter as I want to sell and move
next year (but I do love the cat trinkets, etc). I
have requested no presents anymore but I know they
don't listen to me and will continue to give me cat everythings
until I die (ah, they will have to clean up all of the cats when
I croak so it will come back at them?!

Regards
Tigiie

Hi Tigiie Smile

LIE is your answer. As in telling "porky-pies" is rhyming slang for tellin lies!

Sorry that you're in a rough place health-wise. I hope that things improve for you.

Bit of a cat-lover myself - we've got one, an almost 3 year old tom who rules the household!

Regards, Lmur

Hi Imur

Thank you for that answer, I didn't know what
the porky meaning was so thank you.

My cat rules the house or at least he thinks he
does. He has been the best company over the
last 13 months that I have been ill.

One of my daughter asked me to come to her
house last Tuesday after work and said that she
has something for me and I told her that I didn't
want a kitten (I know how her mind works).

The kitten was only 7 weeks old and was very tiny
but could jump up on the lounge and was already
the head of her animals and also purred so loud,
honestly was such a lovely kitten and I loved him
on sight.

But I declined because I want to move and one cat
is better to move than two. But had she really pressed
me, I would have taken him as he is so beautiful and she
is going to keep him (I have lost 2 cats in the last two years
owing to age and it is so painful when they go especially when
one was 18 years old and was my baby).

Anyway, I expect when I do move, that a cat will just knock on
my door and ask to live with me as that is how I have taken
all of my cats in, they choose you.

Lovatts Holiday Collection book should be delivered on Monday
so that will be another book to do.

Regards
Tigiie

It's true that cats find you - ours turned up at my wife's work-place. He was only a few weeks old at the time. Later that night he slept on my chest as I snoozed on the sofa. He adapted so quickly to his new surroundings. I'm a little hard of hearing and initially thought his purring was some sort of wheezy chest infection!

I love their quizzical, almost disdainful looks (What? You expect me to eat this rubbish? Gimme that steak you're eating!).

Billy is our first cat so we haven't experienced the pain of losing a pet as yet (and hopefully not for a long long time). But 18? That was a fine age.

Lmur

(Would you believe - it's 4.45am in Ireland! Where did the time go?!)

Hi Lmur

You need to go to bed, it is only 4pm here.

Yes, 18 was a great age but I wanted her for another 18 years,
she was so special and I do have her ashes and I still talk to her
at times. She never looked old, I asked a lady at the vet's to
tell me how old she thought my cat was and she said 2 but
was actually 17 then.

Sam is just 7 and he belonged to my daughter and she left him
with me when she went to live in another state of Australia and
I am so grateful for him as he is so beautifu too and does understand
everything and really is the boss. I could never be without a cat as
I have had cats as a child as my mother also loves them but I could
have taken that kitten very easily.

As I have had about 15 weeks off work in the last 13 months, it became
very lonely as I didn't want to burden any of my family whilst I was
ill and I live alone. When I screamed with the pain (once for 3 hours)
Sam was always there and followed me from room to room and I am
so grateful to have him as I was never alone.

Anyway, Lmur, thank you for your help always.

Warmest regards

Tigiie
