Has anyone used one of those "quicktionary" pens?

This model in particular:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0000TMZYK/ref=pd_cp_e_2?pf_rd_p=250314601&pf_rd_s=center-41&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B00006B9QR&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1R50QY3SMFNJR2WFK0ME

I'm thinking of buying one for my niece for her 21st birthday. She's a big reader and a good writer so I thought this might be a neat gift.

Does it work?

Is it handy?

Would it be a good gift for a bookish person?

Any comments appreciated!
