You might have noticed this warm, cosy A2K gift giving thread

http://www.able2know.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=106946

Where A2Kers give gifts to others they love & admire?

Yes?

Then you will also have noticed that some of us have received nought gifts! NOTHING! Not even a nice message! <sob>

Maybe, like me, you've stopped reading this thread, in hope & anticipation that someone, any someone will eventually remember you & send a small pressie your way? <sniff>

So, a POX on the folk on that thread! Evil or Very Mad

WE didn't want your gifts anyway!

Let's have a party & not invite them, hey? Twisted Evil

Gosh, not one response! Surprised

But that could be because you don't want anyone to know that you are in this group, perhaps?

I understand your sensitivity & your hurt, really I do!

I think, had you waited just a few hours you may have had a little surprise.

Remember how gifts are supposed to be given just for the joy of giving?

Hey, msolga, I gave all you Aussies a gift on that thread.

Remember this?

Kookaburra sits on the old gum tree
Merry merry king of the bush is he
Laugh Kookaburra, laugh Kookaburra
Gay your life must be

Kookaburra sits on the old gum tree
Eating all the gumdrops he can see
Stop Kookaburra, stop Kookaburra
Leave some gums for me

Kookaburra sits on the old gum tree
Counting all the monkeys he can see
Stop Kookaburra, stop Kookaburra
That's no monkey, that's ME!!!

Gotta go now & do some stuff I've gotta do.

But I just want you other forgotten folk out there to perk up, stand tall & not be at all frightened about coming out of the closet!

Rejected but proud! That's our motto!

MsOlga, there is not one person I love and respect more here. Be calm.

I haven't worked out your gift yet.

On the thread, I too have qualms about seeming popularity threads, and have gone off my rocker at them more than once at some time or another, to my later semi embarrassment. (I think that may have been how CJane and I met, me yelling at her thread, now one of the major long termers, heh... and she is one of the people I most agree with these days.)

Seemingly popular, good - it helps a certain flow here. But some of my favs rarely post. Oh, Hebba and Laeknir (Dr) Scrat, for example. And Monger. I like Paaskyman, Cool Whip, and Raphillon..

Relax, it's still only October...

Maybe my gift to you, Sglass, will be to help you install gift-giving apparatus on your computer Smile Now, now, no stealing! (while we're looking, anyway)

There, there, kitty kitty.

I was aware of that concern when I started it. If you'll notice, there are something like 80,000 members I have to buy for and I certainly can't do all of that in one day considering everything else on my plate. Not to mention, some of you require more thought than others, just to make sure it's the most specialest and appropriate gift. I mean, what do you buy for Mama Angel? She's had me stumped all week.

Next year I'll know to start my shopping in July.

Lord, no kind thought goes unpunished huh Shocked

I guess I understand those people a little better now who are wary of ever praising fellow posters, for fear of provoking all the ones they didnt get round to compliment...

Considering one can never cover everyone, I guess the safest thing is just to not do anything nice for anyone? Confused

I thought that thread was lovely, and have enjoyed seeing the kind of things posters have come up for each other. I mean, not really my kind of bag, and a bit odd all, but kind of sweet!

No, I didnt, to be honest. Well, not "deadly" serious perhaps, but it sounded like you were really complaining.

I'm sorry if I was completely off, on that one...

I'm glad I wasnt the only one who didnt get it tho - looking at Osso's post for example.. not so stupid then, perhaps

Oh, and ehm, yeah, ok, so.. I may have been stupid here.. allright <ahem>. But I do think that things like a thread like this makes some people a little more wary again of naming posters they like or want to praise or whatever in the first place, though.. I mean, the fear of others then feeling left out, etc. And that's a pity, really.
