I want to find out whether a particular company is a public company (i.e., publicly traded), is a subsidiary of another company, or is closely held.

Is there a reference work or Internet site where I can look this up?

1. It should say so on either or both of the companies' websites.

2. Check out SEDAR and look for the companies' documents which have to be posted on a regular basis. For example, their annual report.

3. Check out the companies' news releases.
