Hi all. Just Checking. Is 56A Tong?
Butain what is the clue, I have already sent my entry in.
If it was the chinese crime group question then the answer is Tung.
Tung group was one of the main groups of organized crime in Hong Kong. It had several thousand members. It was allegedly active outside China in numerous countries such as Canada. It has been claimed that they were 5th among the organized crime groups in terms of number of Hongkong-based members. However, in China they are considered disloyal and dishonorable.
After a bloody battle in 2007 between Shui Fong, and the Tung group (otherwise known as the Kowloon Tong) the Tung group disbanded.
Sorry, but I may have to disagree here. I have TONG as my answer. This fits with 22d HOUSEPROUD. Tong is also a known Hong Kong crime group. A Wikipedia search of TONG will bring up the relevant info. Hope this helps.
Thanks Mrs Green. If it is "Tung", What then do you have for 22D Domestically Fastidiuos? I have "House Proud".
Dogz. I have to agree. I have the same but thought it safe to check as "Tung" was the best for the across clue.
Hi Butain
With the greatest respect to Mrs.Green I cannot agree with "Tung". Firstly because it will upset 22d which is 'houseproud". Secondly because in my humble view the word is definitely "TONG". Numerous references on the net about it, just stick "TONG" in Google. Here are just two:

For other use, see Tong.
A tong (Chinese: 堂; Cantonese Yale: tong4; Pinyin: táng; literal: hall) is a Chinese American secret society. Although tongs were originally created for mutual support and protection, especially from other local ethnic groups hostile to the rapid Chinese immigration, their activities often flouted the law or became outright criminal.

2. (among Chinese living in the U.S.) a fraternal or secret society, often associated with criminal activities.
Well, from memory I had tong, but you didn't give clue or answers, and as I said, I sent in my crossword so had nothing to check it against.
I guess TONG is the answer you are looking for then.
Thanks all. At least my query brought on some discussion
