Hi Everyone

Has anyone done this one yet?

I normally don't have a problem with this puzzle
but I have ended up with SHORTCISHOUT
(short cash out ???), just can't get it out.

Here is what I have:-
1d Denuded - STRIPPED
14a Canopied elephant seat - HOWDAH
9d Members of Protestant denomination - METHODISTS
22a Debts - LIABILITIES
26a Gets better - RECOVERS
32a Corrective spectacle glass - T???O?A?
36a Sth American spotted cat - CHEETA
37d Displace from power - TOPS
31d Occurring in alternate years - BIANNUAL
42a Render null and void - INVALIDATE

Realize that this might all be too heavy for anyone to look at
tonight, hate it when I can't get the answer.

Warmest regards
Tigiie Smile

Hi Tigiie

The answer is SHORTCIRCUIT

You have a few small errors which makes it hard does it not?

36a = ocelot
37d = outs
2d = amateurs
32d = trifocal
31d = biennial

Hope you sleep well tonight. Smile

Hi Dutchy

This is my last one to solve in the Big
and I somehow lost my way.

Thank you for that, I will sleep well
tonight now.

Will have to now attempt the DIY,
have done about 4 up to date but
never win. And then I will do the
other puzzles that I don't have to
send the answers in.

Never mind, it keeps me busy!

Good night Dutchy and remember
that day light saving commences this
weekend.

Regards
Tigiie

ps I am only 74,937 postings behind you now.

You've done well Tigiie! Received my Big this afternoon and have just started the Demon. When I saw your plea for help I felt obliged to stop everything and do the 'twoway-teaser' quickly, as I hate to see you go through a sleepless night. Laughing

regards Dutchy.

You are wonderful Dutchy

I haven't told you but I have had about 4 operations
in the last couple of months and have been very unwell
and am going back to work tomorrow (all going well).

But I was feeling a lot better today and started on the
Big yesterday night and just kept ploughing through today
which was good for my brain and the Two Way just
got me so confused and my brain just stopped, think
addled is the word.

But you saved the day for me and I can now go to
bed happy. I love the BIG, it is my favourite. I know
that I can't help you with any answers as you know them
all already, you are a very learned person.

Thanks again, you are our saviour, along with everyone else too.

Good night, I must go to bed as I had hardly any sleep last night.

Warmest regards
Tigiie Cool

The Demon was easy this time (thank goodness)

Hi Vernamae

I have no qualms with your submission, all I was after was the wanted word "SHORTCIRCUIT", hence I did NOT complete the whole puzzle, just the words with the shaded areas.

Hi Dutch,

Yes, all that really matters is the answer they are after. I noticed your answer at the top after and saw that both would come up with the same result. Now all we need is some luck in the draw.

I will still struggle again this month but hope to get back to normal soon.

vernamae,

So very sorry to hear of your loss.

Anytime you feel you want to have a cry, a moan, a scream, a rant or anything at all, we are here for you - at least we are not too far away, and can give you a mental hug, pat on the back or whatever. Don't hesitate to yell out.

Big Goliathon
Been reading the two-way teaser talk, and sorry to hear about your loss Vernamae, but you sure have a lot of people watching out for you here. They are helpful in more ways than one.

Hi travelnman

I have gone for "shatter" - My chambers crossword dictionary tells me 'explode' 'destroy' 'pulverize' ' blast' are all alternatives for "shatter".

Hope this helps.
