I was unable to get to the site all day yesterday. Just to make sure, was this due to maintenance work on the site?

Sorry if this has been asked /answered somewhere else.

Hmm,really? Then, it only occurs with this site, and only from time to time.

How is this possible? And, is this something I can control?

You can see that responses came all the time on the various threads - and I had no difficulties here, too

Reyn- I know that the head hamster has been futzing around with the site, as of late. For instance, I could post and receive PMs only intermittently a couple of days ago.

Yes, I see that Walter. I don't understand it though.

I must admit, I confused. I'm having no trouble this morning at all. I really don't think it has anything to do with my computer and setup.

I've noticed this difficulty in accessing happens from time to time for a couple of hours and then it's okay. I had assumed (wrongly???) that it was site maintenance or "construction" going on.

Since it was a whole day of this yesterday, I felt surely that the site was offline.

Is anyone else experiencing this kind of stuff here? Surely it's not just me (other than Phoenix).

I found the site inaccessible last night--early hours of the morning.

That may very well be it. It would be intermittent and yes, it would only be from here. I still get those from work on occasion. The site's not down -- it's just not communicating with your PC.

DNS, by the way, stands for Domain Names Server.

Okay, thanks, Jes. It sounds like there's nothing I can do to correct the situation anyways.

Reyn there may well be a problem with A2K as it relates to Shaw Cable because I have the same problems and symptoms as you do. In fact I have for some weeks now.

Can you call Shaw Cable tomorrow and report it please?

If all is truly well and good with A2K, then Shaw is ******* up even if it's only one specific site, although I have my doubts there is anything wrong with Shaw Cable.

It isn't Shaw Cable as I am experiencing this same intermittent problem at work. And I really doubt my office is using Shaw Cable as their ISP. Smile

Chumly, I tend to agree with Jes. I really don't think it's a Shaw problem, because it's so sporadic (from my experience anyways).

We'll keep an eye on it. If there's some kind of pattern, a call can always be made in the future.

No probs this morning anyways.

Sounds like dns to me to, sort of.

Sometimes I get a 'site is not responding' message when I go to the .org address but the .com works. Sometimes both fail and following the link from the .net site works. Sometimes I google A2K and those links work even though literally seconds before the .org wasn't working.

Weird as.

You guys should right-click your internet connection in your system tray and select "repair". It will flush your local dns cache.

Alternately, you can go to command prompt (Start > run > cmd) and type in the following command:

ipconfig /flushdns
