This is the situation:

I want to buy this camera from Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/Nikon-Coolpix-Digital-Vibration-Reduction/dp/B000N46VHE/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2/102-4744447-7338531?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1191242199&sr=8-2

My parents would buy it for me. Right now I'm in Romania for the next 2 years. If my parents bought it in the United States - could Amazon ship it to Romania securely?

OR if my parents sent it to me in a package - how likely would it get stolen? I know someone here who got a camera in a package and it was in a resealed green bean can.

Basically, what is my best option for getting that camera to Romania?

Why don't you ask Amazon? I would guess they could ship it via e.g. DHL or FedEx to a depot in Romania where you would go and collect it by showing your ID. You may have to do that anyway if Romania wished to charge customs duty on the import.
