Being 16 does not make you the youngest, not by a long shot. The average age of members is probably in the 30s, and the average age of the most frequently participating members might reach 50--you are exaggerating.

I heard some interesting programs on the radio recently about how young people online have been dissing old people, and how there is an "i hate young people" web site. I'm not surprised--there's nothing new under the sun.

Being anonymous on the internet allows alot of freedom.

Im only surprised it took this long for that kind of thing to become a story

I wasn't suggesting that you were.

Very often, when young people (read, adolescents, high school students, etc.) go online, they are looking for places where they can meet other people who think like they do, who like the same music, who agree about what is cool and what is not cool. So, if they come to a place like this, they are disappointed. People here who don't agree with you will tell you so, and usually will tell you why they don't agree, and often tell you why in great detail. A lot of young people don't like that. Don't get me wrong, though--a lot of old people don't like that either.

When you are 16, every older person seems like they are 100. Wait a few years, and we will seem much younger. Laughing

Really? Can you get the link? Your not dissing the boy are you Set.

I heard the apposite, and hate was not used but, they said that the old people should die because they were polluting the planet.

Now I think both things are not nice, and it's not nice of you to say that to the boy.

But, you do have members here close to 100, and maybe even there already.

I don't know who exactly but I believe they are one or two.

And often, I've noticed, particularly on relationship threads, the A2K "elders" will presume thread authors are adolescents. Though often they are, I've seen many exceptions.

Let's face it, no one regularly visits a site called "Able2Know," volunteering opinions on everything from porn-watching husbands to the Russo-Japanese War, without being, at least slightly, a know-it-all. A little bit of ageist condescension just seems to come with the territory.

I find the responses of yours which i have read over the last few days to be surreal. You are sticking your nose in a conversation between me and the author of this thread, a conversation with no insults or anger on either side. I begin to find your responses snotty and opinionated, quite apart from evidently deriving from a complete misinterpretation of what people are saying.

One can visit the "I Hate Young People" website by clicking here.

I cannot link directly to an audio of the program, but the CBC's Search Engine radio program index page has a listing for the September 20, 2007 program, which included the story on "I hate young people." One can click here to be taken to the index page for the program Search Engine. If one scrolls down the page to the entry for September 20th, there are links to download a podcast of the program, or an MP3 file of the program.

Do us both a favor, Angelique, and pretend i don't exist.

At one time, I thought Lord Ellpus was 94.

That's probably because he said he was.

Imagine my surprise when he answered the door, and I was standing there in a french maids outfit, holding an enema bag and liniment.
