As much as I hate to admit it, I'm reading nothing too in depth right now because Harry Potter 7 is due out next week......

Never mind me. I'm looking for my cat. I figured if I checked out the various threads I might find her.

Nope, not here. Carry on with the game.

I loved hearing David Crystal talk about this book, he says "You're driving along and see an interesting name, how can you possibly drive past? Of course you have to go to see it!"

Clary, that's exactly how I spent my recent holiday. The goal was to drive mfrom Boston, Massachusetts to Saint Augustine, Florida and back, a matter of some 700 miles one way. But the goal itself was of no importance whatever and there was no specific date that I had to reach there. So the whole point of the trip was to get off the main highway any time one saw an interesting road sign and spend whatever time was deemed necessary for this diversion, often a day and more. One of the most fun trips I've ever undertaken.

(However, except for travel brochures, read no books during the trip. Embarrassed )

I'm still plowing through Sushi for Beginners. 350 pages in, it's getting slightly less 'girlie'. I even found a character I look forward to spotting.

I have just started Slaughterhouse Five by Kurt Vonnegut.

After that I think I'll read Rant by Chuck Palahniuk.

maporsche--I could not put down Slaughterhouse Five when I read it. It took me about two days. I ended up tearing through five or six Vonnegut novels in a row after that. I got half way through The Sirens of Titan and stalled. (Vonnegut overload) Shocked

I've never read Vonnegut before so we'll see how I do.

I also had trouble reading some of Vonnegut's novels. However, I remember being mesmerized by Slaughterhouse Five.
