'Tis is finis.

The poetry is plodding along, I'm starting to see some things I need to work on (meter for example).

Now, with me having to drive to and from my family's home this week, I can pick up a book om CD with a bit more length to it.

About to finish Shadow of the Wind--extraordinary book! So many side-trips that illuminate the novel. Awesome.

I'm re-reading "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire". Very, very, good books, I might add.

Hey! Chai Tea, glad to see you back active on A2K. Several A2Kers have been asking about where you've been. You were missed.

I'm reading Gestalt Therapy Now: Theory/Techniques/Applications

It's old, but interesting. There is a chapter called "Anger and the Rocking Chair" that got me hooked.

Welcome Back, Chai Tea! Nice to see you posting again.

Sex & drugs & rock n roll : The life of Ian dury by Richard Balls.

I'm on a biography kick at the moment. That one was a little slow [he didn't do drugs, incidentally. The title is ironic] but it ends up as a real celebration of triumph over adversity. He had no regrets... Smile

Dark Tower is great - I'm going to have to go back and re-read them all some day.

I'm reading Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire at the insistence of my 14-year-old niece and enjoying it. She says the movie will be better after I've read the book, and that it must be seen on the big screen. She's the expert, god knows.

I was reading "Guns Germs and Steel," and then picked up "The Game: Penetrating the Secret Society of Pickup Artists" by Neil Strauss. Guns is an interesting book, but the Game is very entertaining(and much shorter). I also need to finish "Comedy Writing Secrets" by Melvin Helitzer, which has been sitting half-read for a while now.

I'm reading "Life of Pi."

It is very, very irritating.

I know an equal number of people who said they loved it and hated it, and so haven't decided if I should push through or give up. It's not like I don't have a high tolerance for "difficult" books -- I frequently cite "Midnight's Children" as one of my all-time favorite books -- but the VOICE in this one is just so... bleh.

It probably doesn't help that I'm trying to read it right after I finished "Family Matters", which was truly great, and not completely incidentally truly Indian -- the "Indian" voice in "Pi" rings utterly false to me.

(Anyone want to push me one way or the other?)
