Man Arrested Twice In 1 Night On DUI Charges

POSTED: 11:46 am EDT September 21, 2007
UPDATED: 12:07 pm EDT September 21, 2007

WYE MILLS, Md. -- State police said that a Queenstown man wasted no time getting his second driving under the influence arrest. He was stopped for the second time minutes after he was booked for his first.

According to police, Patrick McDonald, 41, was stopped for traveling 85 mph in a 55 mph zone late Wednesday night on Route 50 near Wye Mills.

Police said he failed field sobriety tests and his blood alcohol level was measured at headquarters at .08.

Police said McDonald was released to a sober driver at 2:10 a.m., and was found behind the wheel of a speeding car 15 minutes later.

McDonald was charged with a second DUI and driving within 12 hours of a DUI arrest.

you would htink that his blood level wold have dropped by a tenth of a point in that time.... but hell... anything worth doing is worth doing well....I only got one DWI in my life back in 1982.... I blew a 3.2 and was taken to the hospital.... the officer apprehended me on foot.... ran up next to the car on the beltline (I was idling at about 5 MPH)... reached in the window and turned the engine off. I got out and fell into his arms.

I had some methaqualone in my system as well.

True story, unexaggerated. Good times.

Why was he allowed to keep his car? Here it would be towed. Who's the real idiot?

Where does it say he was able to keep his car?

This is nothing new. It happens all the time but, you usually don't read or hear about it unless someone gets killed and a lawsuit is filed.

It happens too often.

As TTH has commented, it's not reported on that commonly.

Mame are you calling yourself a loser for missing that? If so, that doesn't make you a loser imo. Does anyone even know or care that these drunks get released? Normally they get released because the jails are too full.
