I would totally play in that band.

We'd put Gwar to shame.

But now I only play with myself.

Ok, since you opened the nasty portal....

I was gonna say earlier that I play both the meat whistle and the skin flute.

but, that was earlier. I wouldn't say that now.

I'm going to be a Smegmatron groupie

They'll call me Sweet Sweet Chai.

If we get a bass guitar we can form a band. I'll be the manager.

How's that?

it was the same for me. essentially, it allows you to 'hear' the music when you see it written on a sheet - handy at musical rehearsals for example, for the first time 'read through', but also later, if you forget the melody.

When she said "worked in theatre" it wasn't clear she meant on the stage per se.

eoe, I worked as a union stage manager at various regional theaters for twenty years or so. (I did a little acting in school, but stage managing was my niche.)

Calling light/sound/effects cues during an overture or other musical number is only possible to do accurately if you can read music. So my early piano lessons were actually useful.

I see. Thanks for clarifying. I was just curious, having 'worked in theatre' myself and never been called upon to read music. Thank goodness. I don't remember much at all.

Bass reasonably well, keyboards decidedly worse.

Used to play in bands that got paid gigs (no released recordings though) - until I realised that being in a band was like being married to 4 guys you didn't like.

So I went through my 'Kicky' stage, and then I found it difficult to even get enthusiastic about playing with myself. Now I want a Hang

Bass guitar is good.
I Like the hang hinge. (I also just wanted to say "hang hinge")

We could use a didge player in the A2K band.

I wonder if Vikkor can play didge?

Wait a minute Didnt Dag and lilk's tennant play didge?

Didge, trombone and comb and Hang drum.

Chai get the door bitch job.

Its new, its different, Its a winner.

I've played guitar for about 10 years. Mainly acoustic 6-string to learn, but I've got quite a bit of electric experience now as well. At some point in there someone handed me a bass and I found I am naturally better at that but I still mostly practice guitar. Bass is like my recess.

Even though I know all the notes on a keyboard I just can't get comfortable on one. I know what it would take and I'd rather just make myself a better guitarist.

I'd never heard of a Hang before, that's cool. It reminds me of a steel drum almost in looks. I like to mess around on the drums too when I get a chance.

Anyone have or ever encounter Absolute Pitch (a.k.a perfect pitch)? I know I do not have this ability and have never met anyone that has. I am just asking out of curiosity, I find the phenomenon very interesting.

I knew someone with perfect pitch - he was trained as a concert pianist but hated performing.

Perfect pitch is the total opposite of me. What would that be? Pitch-in-absentia.

I play the piano.
Although I enjoy it, I'd like to try on new instruments (I'm interested in saxophone, cello and bass in particular).
