I think the only rule that is valid in dry farming in the mid west is use good seed. What is needed in dry farming, is prayer, a good rain dance and lots of patience. Meals On Wheels is handy after some harvest seasons.

Just moved to NC after six years of drought in SC. There is nothing, but nothing, that beats decent rainfall.
