ok my dad was born in england but his parents was born in sicily does it make him an italian dencent and make him full and his kids half?
It would make him italian, yes. And that makes you a filthy half-breed.
cool whip, behave yourself!
You know, that's hard to say.
Where were your great grandparents from? I guess it could get pretty complicated if people from different areas kept marrying and moving around.
In general though, I would call your grand parents Sicilian.
I'd call you father decended from Italians/Sicilians
If your mother is not Italian, I'd call you half Italian/Sicilian
I certainly hope he realizes that I was kidding.
But you can talk about being Italian (or any other heritage for that matter) in two ways, I think. The first is cultural and the second is genetic.
If your father spoke/speaks Italian and acted Italian and so forth, I think most people would call him italian (I would assume he was raised by his grandparent who were borne in Italy, and therefore was probably infuenced by them).
But I'd say that the most important thing is what culture you identify with. Bristish or Italian?
The genetic part is in most cases irrelevant (because people don't really care that you're not 100% Italian).
