DirecTV H20 Receiver Question

I have a "new" HD H20 DirecTV receiver that is giving me some grief. The problem with it is that is allows any signal to be converted to just about any other signal - so, 1080i or 720p can be downconverted or otherwise, and it doesn't seem to autoswitch.

Case in point, someone had it set to 480p in some weird stretch mode and I flipped on ESPNHD (720p native) and everyone looked 8-feet tall. It took me awhile to figure out what was going on.

My older Sony HD200 absolutely refused to change anything 480p or above - it would simply output (on the HD outs) whatever it was receiving. If the TV couldn't handle it, you got a messed up display. But I liked it that way - it was simple, and it worked.

Does anyone know a way to set the H20 to autosync to the input signal? I really don't want to mess with this.

Anyone? This is the default HD receiver DirecTV gives you if you don't have your own.

He's absolutely crazy, and unfortunately, he has the ability to make or
break a stock. He has a huge crowd following every word he says.

Yet, in this particular incident, I have to agree with him, Bernanke was
a bad choice as a replacement for Greenspan.

I still don't understand what Cramer has to do with my original question? I've watched him a few times over the years, it bugs me that he was given a TV show where he can manipulate markets after he was convicted for manipulating markets and did time. My MIL loves him.

Then, take a look in the H20 manual, the answers to your questions are there..

This is bullshit - you ask an honest question and get insulted by the French. Stick a cork in it Francis.

Looks like I need to go back into setup and change to "Native" mode. Thanks again Francis.

In Native mode, the receiver automatically adjusts resolution to match the resolution of individual
TV programs as they are tuned.
If your TV supports all formats (1080i, 720p, 480i and 480p), then your cycle would also include 720p.
If Native is turned on, the FORMAT key cycles through Stretch, Letter and Crop for the current TV
