Am having a few problems with some clues here. Any help would be appreciated.
4a Edible fruit of a tropical American tree, about the size of an orange (7)
1a In relation to, as compared with(Fr) 3-1-3 I have "apropos" but that then clashes with 1d and 2d. The c and d don't fit with a and o - in clues 1d and 2d - if you get my meaning.
1d Mathematical calculations that are expressed in the form of a numerator above a denominator rather than in decimal form (6,9).
I have "common fraction"
2d People who are against the Queen being head of state (4,11) I have "anti monarchists"
I would have said
vis-a-vis
but I am not sure, if it fits with your other clues...
Thank you. That does change things. Makes the mathematical question "vulgar fractions"
and 2d would be as I had it.
Just leaves the edible fruit if anyone is able.
maybe the other v: avocado, vis-a-vis, vulgar fraction? answers without other clues are fraught with danger

4a Edible fruit of a tropical American tree, about the size of an orange(7)
If I go with viv a vis and vulgar fractions, letters for 4a are g??i??p.
There are two other options for the maths question - clue above in first ask - simple fractions
common fractions
that would give me either p??i??p or
m??i??p however it would leave me withiut an answer to 1a where I have vis a vis.
I never give up:
genipap - (from dictionary) a succulent orange-sized tropical fruit with a thick rind

Thank you to all who helped me and to Bohne who filled the last clue with genipap. Can send it off now.
