Hi, today I wanted to send an mp4 file to someone, but I didn't find a

solution. I used rapidshare to upload the file, but it takes forever to

complete the transfer! I have a dial up connection.

Isn't there away to reduce the time taking for mp4 transfer, or reducing

the size, compressing it or anything of help.

Thanks for any idea Rolling Eyes

upgrade to faster connection
Umm...they're huge files and are not really ideal (gross understatement)for transmitting over dial-up connection. I gave up 4 years ago trying to d/l MP3 files with dial-up connection as it took 15-20 minutes to d/l 3 or 4 min. song file. What you are trying to do is akin to using a tiny paintbrush to paint a whole house!

Instead, I strongly suggest burning a CD and sending your MP4 files rather than doing any transmitting with dial-up over Internet. Pretty easy to do and far less frustrating.

With whatever method you might use to compress the MP4 file (if any would work at all), I believe the quality and fidelity of the song's musical reproduction will suffer. I'll leave those details to others who will surely post their replies.

IMHO no one in the right mind would use dial-up to do MP4 d/l. I'm sorry--but you might want to get into the modern age with a cable modem or broadband connection of some sort or else risk long download times and several frustrating disconnects.
