Hi, I was browsing a university website here. I went for the student page
but it shows nothing except Oracle Application Server on the above bar.
How can I get this, I have windows xp.
Thanks for any idea.
Without seeing the WWW page in question I would guess that they have some issue between their WWW server and their oracle server. There shouldn't be anything for you to download.
Oracle Application Server is the interface between an Oracle database and a WWW server application. It is what allows the data from the database to be displayed as a WWW page. It isn't a client side (i.e. end user) application.
Thanks fishin, I found a link there reads NEED JVM? I downloaded it and
tried to open the link again but it seems that they closed it temporary as
my friend told me. What is JVM?
JVM = "Java Virtual Machine". If you use Internet Explorer you should have Java installed automatically. If you use something else or it isn't installed you can install one from java.com
Hmmm...
I work with Oracle and doubt that you need that to read any Internet site.
Also do you think it is a smart thing to download and install all kind of stuff without knowing what it is and what it does?
Hi, you are right about not to download any stuff. Here, the webpage
itself offer this service JVM if one can't view that link. Anyway I
downloaded that and installed it, but the page doesn't open at all, it reads
error. They stopped the service for a while as heard. I'll try later.
