Are certain cars/people accident magnets?

If so either my car or I am the target. In the past year I have been hit three times. Most recently this morningÂ…it has not been my fault and in all three cases I was stopped and hit from behind. It is no longer a question when I drive if I will be in an accident, it is when I will be in an accident. What do you think is happening to me?

I'll bet it's like in that movie "The Ring".

Did you watch some video that made no sense?

That's probably what's doing it.

Never saw the Ring - but I have seen lots of stuff videos and otherwise that don't make sense - most movies and TVs shows do not make sense.

Linkat- Sorry about your accident. Was there anything in common with your three accidents? If you were hit from behind, were you going too slowly? Were you at a traffic light where the light just turned yellow, and the guy behind you thought that you were going to cross?

Once it can happen. Twice, maybe. But having the same type of accident three times would be a reason to think about what was happening just before the accident.

The other odd thing was it was three different situations. The first I was on the highway in stopped traffic - no one was moving in any lane. I got hit by a man who was hit by some one else behind him. That was the most damage.

The second, I was stopped ready to make a left hand turn - blinker on - it is a busy intersection and I hadn't just stopped, but was stopped for a minute. The guy just didn't notice - I wasn't hit hard - just minor bumper damage.

Just today, it was at a light. The light was red and was before I even reached near the intersection. I went to the right lane to make my right hand turn. The man that hit me was avoiding getting hit by a taxi that was moving towards him.

Three completely different situations - that is what is so baffling. Not like I have a habit of doing something that is likely to cause an accident - just mere coincidence either that or I am a magnet for this stuff - that's what my husband thinks.

And fortunately in all three cases no one was hurt. I did pull a muscle in my neck later on trying to reach for something in the back seat - wasn't driving, but parked at the time. Can I claim that?

What color is your car?

Did these accidents happen on sunny or cloudy days?

Just the other day, I was making a left onto a road, out of a parking lot. There was an intersection just a few yards ahead. A gray car was driving through the intersection, and although there was no danger of an accident, it surprised me that it was there. I just did not see it sitting at the stop sign while I was checking to make my turn.

It was a cloudy overcast day, and somehow that car, sitting still, just wasn't there.

I have a black car and it was sunny this morning - the guy actually saw me - he just knew that he would hit either the cab or me - guess I was lucky.

I believe both the other two incidents were clear days as the first one I was returning from a soccer game and the weather was comfy and the other was also pretty nice.

I would be a magnet.

I don't drive.

The reason I don't drive is I am prone (lack of depth perception) to hitting things, not realizing how close they are. I am inept at driving skills.

I used to have a car (loong time ago) and got tired of how much it cost me to repair/replace things on it and damage to others. My insurance was cancelled too, so .... I ditched the car.

The one plus is, my commute is less stressful (apparently I have attrocious road rage issues too).

The thing I'm getting at is .... I recognize I am a sh!t driver, and then don't inflict my crappiness on the roads.

The majority of other bad drivers, don't.

Hence you will meet them on the roads. You are just unfortunate to have met more than your share in the last year.

Unless of course you are lying to us and you are a crappy driver!

Well I could be a crappy driver - but these were all from behind and I was stopped - so at least my crappy driving didn't cause them.

Maybe I just have a nice rear end?
