You can go sit in the corner with Imus and help him mourn the loss of his job.

I wonder which company will offer him a contract?

I'm guessing you and Ragman have a different point of view. So what? Speak.

I'm busy working my own way to free speech and the need for it, and would be interested in your point of view.

I meant to add, free speech as the over-riding concern.

With incitative hate speech still ruled out, as past free speech, which is what I'm still thinking on, not that I think this situation is that, at all. Those were throwaways. What I'm still thinking on is where is the border.

He has been warned a few times for his idiocy before. Now his sponsors took it further and put things in their own hands.

Again, it's not a free speech issue. It's a case of a boss firing someone for their doing a bad job. He lost many sponsors for good, so his boss fired him. It's about ratings. so be it!.

Just in case you thought I was serious, dyslexia...Please come back and comment. You know I want to see your comment. "Let's hug it out, bitch"

Who is Edith B?

Edith Bunker, dlowan, from an American sitcom called "All in the Family". The patriarch, Archie, was well-known for telling Edith to "stifle it" whenever she looked to have an opinion of her own especially if it was opposed to his own racist/bigoted/rednecked/chauvinist (I could go on...) opinions. "All in the Family" was based on a show from Britain (the title of which escapes me naturally -- dj would know -- so you may be familiar with the UK version).

That's ossobuco.. (teasing you, it is often misspelled, even by those who've been around with me near daily for six years).

Ragman, I knew you were teasing. I still expect you two to vary in view on this particular bit, and he and I may too.

I often find Dyslexia view agreeable with mine or, if we differ, I respect his opinion and laugh heartily.

I don't think the issue is the seeming endpoint of the firing. To me, as I'm working what I think out, it's a climate of shutdown for talk that is the issue. I despise the simplistic talk that goes on louder and louder, or at least some of it. And am not any fan of taunting, making fun of people, being raised without that and having to learn to get a grip when I saw how people talk to each other.

I'm more afraid of speech clampdown by popular consent. But I'm barging in. Will listen.

I think it's hilarious that dys started a thread to talk about what he's not talking about.

I invite everyone to read and comment on my thread "Physician heal your damn self". It's relevant to this discussion.

And dyslexia - I don't believe you're acared to sapeak your mind, but that you're trying to do a little "pre-rant buzz".

Here, I'll help you... You think this was a buncha bullshit, the way they lynched poor old Imus. And those hucksters Jackson and Sharpton ought to be the ones run off the public airways!
