A 29-year-old man, identified only as Chandra, has been admitted to the Adan Hospital after he allegedly severed his penis inside his home in Fintas after learning that his wife wanted to marry another man, reports Al-Qabas daily.

The daily quoting a security source said the man during interrogation with police reportedly said he became desperate after receiving a letter from his wife back home in India seeking divorce to marry another man. The same source said surgeons at the Adan Hospital tried in vain to stitch the organ in its place.
