Dlowan--
My manners have returned with my third cup of tea.
Thanks for the clarification.
I envy you your high tech troll control.

Any deep thoughts on the ethics of removing the little beasties?
Wow. Noddy wants to kill something.

I don't want my hands dirty--I want to be able to call an 800 number and have someone come in with a Have A Heart trap to relocate the critters.
I don't want to kill them--I want them to vanish.
Trolls are only as real as you allow them to be.
DD's point is well taken . . .
DrewDad--
Sometimes the world is too much with me.

Thanks for the Wiki article. I'm a more informed woman than I was at 3:45.
I'm now having qualms that trolls may be an essential part of the ecology of a well run forum, functioning as Hate Sinks and stimulating members to unite against them.
Sometimes I am sore beset.

I have a feeling we're not talking about the same thing.
In Internet terminology, a troll is a person who enters an established community such as an online discussion forum and intentionally tries to cause disruption, often in the form of posting messages that are inflammatory, insulting, incorrect, inaccurate, absurd, or off-topic, with the intent of provoking a reaction from others.
