F*ck off, loser! Great breakup songs.

I have been totally obsessed with this new Beyonce song, "Irreplaceable" for the past week. I don't even have anyone to break up with, but I just love the message that song conveys. What a great breakup song. It does the two things that all great breakup songs do. It effectively tells the person in question to get lost AND beautifully conveys the message that they are nothing but a worthless pile of steaming ****. Here are some lyrics.

To the left
To the left
Everything you own in the box to the left
In the closet that's my stuff - Yes
If I bought it nigga please don't touch
And keep talking that mess, that's fine
But could you walk and talk at the same time
And It's my mine name that is on that Jag
So remove your bags let me call you a cab

Standing in the front yard telling me
How I'm such a fool - Talking about
How I'll never ever find a man like you
You got me twisted

You must not know about me
You must not know about me
I could have another you in a minute
matter fact he'll be here in a minute - baby

You must not know about me
You must not know about me
I can have another you by tomorrow
So don't you ever for a second get to thinking you're irreplaceable

So go ahead and get gone
And call up on that chick and see if she is home
Oops, I bet ya thought that I didn't know
What did you think I was putting you out for?
Cause you was untrue
Rolling her around in the car that I bought you
Baby you dropped them keys hurry up before your taxi leaves
Standing in the front yard telling me
How I am such a fool - Talking about
How I'll never ever find a man like you
You got me twisted

You must not know about me
You must not know about me
I could have another you in a minute
matter fact he'll be here in a minute - baby

You must not know about me
You must not know about me
I will have another you by tomorrow
So don't you ever for a second get to thinking you're irreplaceable

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So how about you? Do you know any great breakup songs you'd like to share? Go ahead, it'll be fun.
Ween, "Piss Up A Rope" (From "12 Golden Country Greats")...
Quote:
My dinners on fire while she watches tv
And if youve ever wondered what its like to be me
She takes all my money and leaves me no smokes
Yells at my buddies and insults my folks
Im breakin my back doin the best that I can
Shes got time for the dog and none for her man
And Im no dope, but I cant cope
So hit the fuckin road and piss up a rope
You can piss up a rope
And you can put on your shoes, hit the road get truckin
Pack your bag, I dont need the ag
On your knees you big, booty bitch start suckin
You ride my ass like a horse in a saddle
Now youre up shits creek with a turd for a paddle
And I cant cope -- piss up a rope
Uh, you can piss up a rope and feel the pissy dribble
You can piss up a rope and watch me giggle
For the last 6 months I been packin your bag
You can wash my balls with a warm, wet rag
Till my balls feel smooth and soft like silk
Im sick of your mouth and your 2 percent milk
And Im no dope, but Ive lost all hope
So hit the fuckin road and piss up a rope
You can piss up a rope
And you can put on your shoes, hit the road get truckin
Pack your bag, I dont need the ag
On your knees you big, booty bitch start suckin
You ride my ass like a horse in a saddle
Now youre up shits creek with a turd for a paddle
And I cant cope -- piss up a rope
I actually don't, which is why I'm surprised that I'm so into this song. I heard some guy playing at work, and I looked it up.
This song kicks ass.
...and from Mr. Dylan...
It ain't no use to sit and wonder why, babe
It don't matter, anyhow
An' it ain't no use to sit and wonder why, babe
If you don't know by now
When your rooster crows at the break of dawn
Look out your window and I'll be gone
You're the reason I'm trav'lin' on
Don't think twice, it's all right
It ain't no use in turnin' on your light, babe
That light I never knowed
An' it ain't no use in turnin' on your light, babe
I'm on the dark side of the road
Still I wish there was somethin' you would do or say
To try and make me change my mind and stay
We never did too much talkin' anyway
So don't think twice, it's all right
It ain't no use in callin' out my name, gal
Like you never did before
It ain't no use in callin' out my name, gal
I can't hear you any more
I'm a-thinkin' and a-wond'rin' all the way down the road
I once loved a woman, a child I'm told
I give her my heart but she wanted my soul
But don't think twice, it's all right
I'm walkin' down that long, lonesome road, babe
Where I'm bound, I can't tell
But goodbye's too good a word, gal
So I'll just say fare thee well
I ain't sayin' you treated me unkind
You could have done better but I don't mind
You just kinda wasted my precious time
But don't think twice, it's all right
While technically more of a "don't start up with me" than a break up song, "Deathly" by Aimee Mann is good....
Quote:
Now that I've met you
Would you object to
Never seeing each other again.
'Cause I can't afford to
Climb aboard you
No one's got that much ego to spend.
So don't work your stuff
Because I've got troubles enough
No, don't pick on me
When one act of kindness could be
Deathly
Deathly
Definately.
'Cause I'm just a problem
For you to solve and
Watch dissolve in the heat of your charm
But what will you do when
You run it through and
You can't get me back on the farm.
So don't work your stuff
Because I've got troubles enough
No don't pick on me
When one act of kindness could be
Deathly
Deathly
Definately
You're on your honour
'Cause I'm a goner
And you haven't even begun
So do me a favour
If I should waver
Be my saviour
And get out the gun.
Just don't work your stuff
Because I've got troubles enough
No don't pick on me
When one act of kindness could be
Deathly
Deathly
Definately.
My 8 year old loves this song and sings it all the time. Don't think she understands the meaning behind it though.
David Bromberg's "Testify About My Love" would be a classic in this category. He performs it often at Folk-Blues festivals where he has been backed up on the song by Linda Ronstadt, Bonnie Raitt, and others.
It is a very long song and I do not know whether the lyrics are available.
A good song is a good song. I don't care who sings it. Unless it's Rod Stewart, of course.
I once made a tape loop of this song, planning to leave it playing and go out before my no longer beloved got home.
I took a more mature approach, in the end.
He probably would enjoy telling the story now if I'd done it, though.
You're Moving Out Today Lyrics
(Carole Bayer Sager/Bette Midler/Bruce Roberts)
I stayed out late one night and you moved in
I didn't mind 'cause of the state you were in
May I remind you that it's been a year since then
Today the landlady, she said to me (what did she say?)
You're looney friend just made a pass at me (slap him in the face)
Perhaps you might enjoy a cottage by the sea
So pack your toys away
Your pretty boys away
Your 45s away
Your alibis away
Your Spanish flies away
Your one-more-tries away
Your old tie-dyes away
You're moving out today
Your nasty habits ain't confined to bed (Ha Ha Ha Ha)
The grocer told me what you do with bread (what do you do?)
Why don't you take up with the baker's wife instead of me, fool!
Pack up your rubber duck
I'd like to wish you luck
Your funny cigarettes
Your sixty-one cassettes
Pack all your clothes away
Your rubber hose away
Your old-day-glos away
You're moving out today
Pack up your dirty looks
Your songs that have no hooks
Your stacks of Modern Screen
Your portrait of the Queen
Your mangy cat away
Your baby fat away
You're headed that-a-way
You're moving out today
Pack up your fork and spoon
Please leave my Lorna Doones
Your map of Mozambique
Your water bed that leaks
