Heaven... I'm in heaven,
And my heart beats so that I can hardly speak.
And I seem to find the happiness I seek,
When we're out together dancing cheek to cheek.
Heaven... I'm in heaven,
And the cares that hung around me through the week,
Seem to vanish like a gambler's lucky streak,
When we're out together dancing cheek to cheek.

Oh, I love to climb a mountain,
And to reach the highest peak.
But it doesn't thrill me half as much
As dancing cheek to cheek.

Oh, I love to go out fishing
In a river or a creek.
But I don't enjoy it half as much
As dancing cheek to cheek.

Dance with me! I want my arms about you.
The charms about you
Will carry me through to...

Heaven... I'm in heaven,
And my heart beats so that I can hardly speak.
And I seem to find the happiness I seek,
When we're out together dancing cheek to cheek.

There are so many directions to go with the many images floating through my head at the moment after reading this!

Would this classify as one of your human interest story oddities, Reyn? Laughing Very Happy

I can just picture you now as Reyn and the ostrich dancing just like the characters of Steve Martin and Lily Tomlin in All of Me. Edwina and Roger/Heeven and Reyn dancin' cheek to cheek.

Think of it as a chorale...

... or?

Okay, a chorale. And a very hungry looking chorale, if you ask me.

Nah, I think they are just singing away, but I'll admit it didn't occur to me that they were singing Reyn, and now butrflynet's song... though now I can imagine those..

Anyone remember that strange song about the bells, bells, bells? and little Jimmy Brown?

So I check it out online and I see the music has been rerecorded up the kazoo, including by madonna, and, egads, elvis.

All I care about is the original..

Which, of course, these ostriches are busy singing....

Yes, and I hated it.

Now, I'm visualizing momma bird feeding the little darlins. Like, drop a nice juicy boa constrictor down the hungry gullet?

Hey, I saw a couple of great blue herons this week. One was hunkered down by a Canada goose, so I could get an idea of the size. Those things are huge.

On the Browns...

see -
http://www.tsrocks.com/j/jim_ed_brown_the_browns_texts/the_three_bells.html

on herons, they always amuse me as they change from squatties to elongated flummers.

We had geese at Humboldt sanctuary by the gazillion, but I never saw them close enough to figure the size. I'll just believe you.

I was stopped on a walk once in the Venice Canals by a guard goose who pecked at my knees (I was wearing shorts.) I didn't want to swat him or her and so resorted to laughter and finally running. I suppose they can be serious fecking peckers.

Yes, but not as bad as some breeds of swan. They say their wings are powerful enough to break a person's arm. Never saw it happen, of course.

I've met two large goosies up close in my life, and both might have been acclimated to humans in their yard.. one in a yard of a client (trust me, I designed them a nice area), and the other on the canal walk. Otherwise I've seen them in their natural groups, as in the humboldt sanctuary. Amusingly, the alpaca place was right next door, as the crows flew.

Whatever were we talking about?, says ms. tangent?

Oh, carolling ostriches...

and, in seriousness, we miss Heeven.

So, Walter, did you photo have emus or ostriches running, or even flying?
It's probably only my computer that can't see it..
