When my parents fly out there next week, they'll be taking a hand-knit baby blanket from Auntie K. Here's me and the blanket at christmas-time. I have a few more inches to finish <clickclickclick>.

Congratulations to the fine new parents.

And that's a nice blanket, too.

I felt tremors and thought it was an earthquake. I'm happy to know it was just the rumble of happy news of a new Oregonian!

For the record, it was a brilliant, clear, sunny, spectacular day in this neck of the woods. A great day to greet the world.

Boomer, thank you!

I just got off the phone with lil sister. She is tired, but everything's ok. They still haven't decided on a name. After about 20 minutes, a friend of hers came into the room - she's a nurse in the maternity ward. It was a very sweet moment to have witnessed from 3000 miles away. Her friend started crying, my sister started crying and then so did I! Phew, what a day!

I'm trying not to cry, but I am beginning to weaken.

Hold me, kris.

There there, Gus.

I will post pictures when I can. Since he was early, they hadn't prepared things like the camera. Their battery died immediately. They will snap some pictures tomorrow.

No name as of yet.

I suggest they go the celebrity route, and come up with the dumbest name possible. Apple, or Coco...or even Slappy. That has a nice ring. Slappy.

Congrats on being an aunt again.

I think the names on the short list are Henry (family name), Harrison or Wilson.

I'm sure he will be..... after his head returns to rounded. Apparently all that time with his head in the birthing canal gave him sort of a conical look.
