Which popular female singer do you like best?
.
The woman who I admire most is Billie Holiday. Ella Fitzgerald was the greatest all around singer, but Billie had more intensity.

From the past, there was Dakota Staton, Aretha Franklin, and Peggy Lee.

Todays (female voices that I like) include Norah Jones,Dolly Parton, Dianne Krall, Ill have to think on any others.
Im not a big fan of the operatic voice, too forced and almost mechanical.

The Stefani and The Madonna, good choices.

I think the best singers are people like Mariah Carey. Whitney Houston, Kiri Te Kanawa who have power and range but as far as popularity goes, there are highs and lows.
Madonna always has a steady stream of popularity, Gwen took over for a while, but popularity comes and goes.

Madonna's more recent CD's can always be played louder than most others too.

OOooooh, yes.
Had to admit to bopping away to 'get into the groove' whilst going to work today.Even tho its an oldie it needs to be played loud.

Her Confessions album is amazing, everytime I listen to it I just imagine it in a club, played loud or in a concert hall.
Tho I am biased.

Toni Braxton is wonderful. You can hear her emotions in each song.
