Sometimes, I like to link a snippet of music to some post of mine. This morning, I found the link that I wanted, but it had about a hundred different tunes on it. In order to hear the music, you clicked on the name of the song. Is there any way that I could find the URL, from that site, that would go directly to the song that I wanted.
I certainly wouldn't want members to have to scroll through a lot of "stuff" in order to find the one that I wanted to send!
It depends on the site. If it's a site that uses javascript to lauch the link to the music it won't work.
But if it launches a link like:
www.sometite.com/musicfiles/songname.wav (or whatever music extension).
Then it usually works.
Craven- That's the problem. Most of the music files are part of a grouping, and you just can't extract one part of it!
Can you give me the link?
http://www.seahaas.com/rfamily.wav
That site makes it a bit hard because it looks like they disable the right click. But if you press shift and click on the link it will launch a browser with the URL. If you stop it from loading and copy the URL you have it.
Of course you could always just hover over it and read the URL in the status bar.
Hmm, and they have their server configured against hotlinking.
That site won't work they run an "anti-leeching" script. The above link just redirects.
