Why the hell has nobody mentioned Joe Bonamassa?

I've just done a search for him on A2K, and found nothing....nada, zilch.

This has me confused. Here is this guy, probably one of the most talented guitarists that the USA has produced, and nobody's raving about him!

He's from Noo Yawk and is cool, so I thought he'd at least get a mention from Kicky, but apparently not.

I first bought one of his Albums a few years ago, after seeing him on a late night music programme (Jools Holand?) and was quite bowled over.
He's a mixture of Clapton and Hendrix, and has been a gifted guitar player since he was about eight.
When he was not much older, he was invited by BB King to "open" the night at BB's club...he's THAT good.

Is it because he looks a bit like a computer geek?

I tell you something, when he was lined up with Eric Czar, they were outstanding. Two guitarists and a drummer, and they sounded as good as Cream anyday.

So? Why does he seem to be neglected here on A2K?

I will forever be thankful to Joe, as he turned my son away from that awful, repetitive Garage music (you know, the stuff that sounds like a builder trying to demolish a wall for half an hour) and onto some real music.
Boomer, if your kid ends up playing half as good as Joe does, he'd have done well.

Here's some examples..............

Had to cry today.....(so cool)

Burning hell......

You upset me baby....

Don't burn down that bridge....

I think you'd find it hard to find someone to beat this guy, Walter.

My boy bought me his latest CD for Chrissy.....it's very good.

I do not recall ever hearing of the guy...?...sometimes they just slip thru the cracks. I watched a few pieces on YouTube...and I'll seek out some Mp3s.

He is a bit unblusey looking, maybe if he would roll in some dirt before climbin' on stage...he could use a good hat...and it should be dirty also.

Wow! He wails!

I've never heard of him either but I'm glad I have now. Thanks LordE!

Mo digs "Don't Burn Down that Bridge" best so far. (It mght have something to do with the fact that Mo's guitar looks just like that.)

Thanks for the tip - I definately going to pick up some of his music.

While it's fun to think of future-Mo as earning a living playing guitar right now I'm just crossing my fingers that he makes it few a few years of lessons.

I'm so glad you noticed this thread, Boom. I just thought it would give your lad a bit of inspiration.

Now...what's his stage name going to be?

I go for Mo Boomeramassa.

Mo Diddley?

Mo Tacome?

Madman Mo the Rose City Shredder?

I have a teenage nephew in Texas who studies guitar. When he first went to class the teacher said "Well, he already has the right name for it..." And he does have a great rock name.

I'd post his name but my sister would murder me.

Right now Mo is into what I call metal but I've been educated that it is really just hard rock.

I looked for Joe Bonamassa recordings (I don't know what to call things anymore - records, nope; albums, nope; recordings? okay) but didn't find any at that particular store. I did go dig out some Stevie Ray Vaughn though!

I'll keep looking!
