A Politically Correct Seasons Greetings/Holiday Greetings to Everyone

I wanted to send some sort of holiday greeting to my friends, but it is so difficult in today's world to know exactly what to say without offending someone.

So I met with my attorney yesterday, and on his advice, I wish to say the following:

Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low stress, non-addictive, gender neutral celebration of the summer solstice holiday, practiced with the most enjoyable traditions of religious persuasion or secular practices of your choice with respect for the religious/secular persuasions and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all.

I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2007, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make our country great and without regard to the race, creed, color,age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishee.

By accepting this greeting, you are accepting these terms: This greeting is subject to clarification or withdrawal. It is freely transferable with no alteration to the original greeting. It implies no promise by the wisher to actually implement any of the wishes for her / himself or others and is void where prohibited by law, and is revocable at the sole discretion of the wisher. This wish is warranted to perform as expected within the usual application of good tidings for a period of one year or until the issuance of a subsequent holiday greeting, whichever comes first, and warranty is limited to replacement of this wish or issuance of a new wish at the sole discretion of the wisher.

Regards

Tico

P.S.

A singing Christmas card for Joe Nation:

http://www.artistdirect.com/Images/Sources/AMGCOVERS/music/cover200/drf600/f692/f69202lixyo.jpg

Have a holly, jolly Christmas;
It's the best time of the year
I don't know if there'll be snow
But have a cup of cheer

Have a holly, jolly Christmas;
And when you walk down the street
Say Hello to friends you know
And everyone you meet

Oh
Ho
The mistletoe
Hung where you can see;

Somebody waits for you;
Kiss her once for me
Have a holly jolly Christmas
And in case you didn't hear

Oh by golly
Have a holly
Jolly Christmas this year

MERRY CHRISTMAS
AND
HAPPY NEW YEAR
TO ALL MY A2K FRIENDS!!!

This is a shot of part of our Albuquerque Old Town Plaza on Christmas Eve following a tradition that goes back 400 years to the first Spanish settlers in this area. They put out the luminarias or farolitas (little fires) to guide the Christ child to come at Christmas.

Many thousands of luminarias line all the walks, tops of walls, rooftops, and are generally just everywhere. These are the real deal with real candles that are lighted at dusk. It is an incredibly beautiful sight.

In the background you can see the tower of the San Felipe de Neri Church built in 1706 and still fronts on the Plaza.

There's this thing that resides in my basement, a sort of human, but not quite, and I asked him to extend holiday greetings to all my A2K friends since my voice is rather hoarse and I am thusly unable to fulfill such obligations.

He said, "Yes sir, Mr. Ratzenhofer, I will do that for you and in payment would you be kind enough to throw me a few extra scraps of meat for my supper?"

I assured him that such portions would be forthcoming and he, in turn, fulfilled his part of the agreement...

Merry Christmas to you, Walter, and to Timber, Tico, BiPolar Bear, Letty, shewolfm, patiodog, Noddy, Foxfire, linkat, - even Gus, and to all the posters here who have endured my postings and made the experience generally a good one all year. A good time for us to remember that we are all just peiople, just passengers on a train whose destination none of us knows for sure.
