I've Had a Revelation

I used to be trendy. And cool. And cute.

But now I don't think so anymore.
I don't dress up at all. I am strictly a jeans and sweatshirt kinda girl who wears little makeup and rarely does her hair.

Which isn't bad. But I caught a glimps of myself in the window and I wondered "who the hell is that?"

Now, I am not motivated enough to start waking up 45 minutes earlier so that I can do my hair and makeup but it did get me wondering: when did I stop caring what I looked like?

well look on the bright side Bella, it gives you a bit more time to concentrate on other things, like spelling.

Jeez that was quick Laughing

It's A2K. You spent that 45 minutes waiting for an update to the soy thread.

I have a number of friends who stopped caring about their looks
several years after getting married.

They became couch potatoes and I guess they figured they were
together for life anyway, so it wasn't worth the effort to look good
for each other. So now they are dumpy middle-aged zombies.

HOW DEPRESSING can you get???

Bella - it's called 'age.' That's all.
You've aged somewhat, become more mature in your thinking and realized that trendy and cute are fine if you're 23, but a general pain in the ass if you've got a real life with real responsibilites.

I love my jeans, and I doubt if I could pry my feet into a pair of the heels that I used to wear daily. My toes are thankful.

As far as getting up 45 minutes early to workout.....well, I will. tomorrow.

From being married. You don't have anyone to impress anymore.

I love that, Eva!

I think "trendy and cute" is by definition something for the very young. After that, it's about "beauty." And from what I've seen, you're plenty beautiful.

Wow, Eva. That is great. Finding that to be rather true, too.

Heh, Bella, I know the feeling. Weird thing is I feel more confident that I am indeed attractive now than before.
Wear that shirt? Eh, it's scratchy! Don't need the shirt now. I am enough.

Btw: Congratulations. Haven't told you that yet.

Now is your time to bask in "Wow, you look radiant" "You look so beautiful." "You are so glowy".

Even on days where you are feeling like you want to heave. Even across the board, you are radiating out this warm beauty that can't be missed.

AND ...You have a valid reason to go shopping for new clothes and go get pampered right now. Smile

Oh hell....I didn't realize Bella was pregnant. (I never even really noticed the avatar.)
In that case I know what the problem is.....you're only operating on 3 cylinders!!
Your mind and body are in a whole 'nother place from where they've ever been.

I'm not so sure about using that line indiscriminately.
I've seen some "happy" people that look pretty bizarre. lol!

Well, I never said anything about being fat and dumpy.

So I am not depressing at all.
