Which Kent town was Nikolai Rimsky Korsakov stationed off when he composed
his Symphony No. 1?

I imagine you refer to Chatham, however his 1st Symphony was not completed and performed untill after his discharge from the Tsar's Navy, the year following his sea tour. While on that tour, he did compose the 1st Symphony's 1st Movement, Adagio, Scherzo, and Finale, but was unsatisfied with his attempts at the Andante, which he completed after returning to Russia. Actually, only the Adagio was composed while he was at Chatham ... he is known to have played the Adagio and other fragments of his as-then-yet-uncompleted 1st Symphony at the piano of a tavern in Chatham while on shore leave.
