Actually, I must clarify my previous statement. When my finacee passed away anything that reminded me of her would make me burst out in tears. When I had to clean out our apartment (I moved put after she died) all the things that were precious to her made me cry an ocean. Listening to the music we both loved brought me pain and heartache. And I could not go to our favorite places for a long time. I do know what it's like.

Sometimes, it's ok to just cry because....well, because.

Last thing I cried over....well now that I am pregnant, I cry a lot. Laughing Take your pick.

boomer, I am stoic over big issues, and cry over silly things. I think it's the body's way of cleansing the soul.

Your turn, JP. ;-)

I know I've cried over things before, but just checking in for now. What's crowding out my own memories is a huge to-do yesterday, when I broke (semi-purposely, it's a long story) a cheap plastic light-up wand (that was already 3/4 broken) that sozlet had gotten as part of her birthday party package. She set up an epic wailing and barely managed to gasp out, "But I loved it like a child!"

We went to the circus last night and they were selling the same damn things. She has another.

Sympathy on your dog biscuit basket. I completely understand why that would hurt, for a lot of reasons.

Recently went on a ridding out spree and tackled the storage space under the stairs where I keep a footlocker full of childish treasures. The space had always been dry as a bone so I was shocked to discover all my keepsakes covered in mold -- everything had to be thrown out. I have sons and so had mothballed a doll collection (dolls from around the world, one passed down from my Scottish gramma so very old) against the day I might have a granddaughter. Don't laugh -- what made me cry was my Barbie collection (well not actually Barbie -- Tressy and her butch friend whose name escapes me now). My mom who HATES to sew once spent countless evenings leading up to Christmas to hand-sew the most gorgeous wardrobe for those two. She begged scraps of fabulous materials from friends and acquaintances and the results were stunning -- a persian lamb stole lined in cranberry silk to match it's dinner dress, a champagne satin strapless ball gown with lacy overskirt, to namer a couple. I'm a tomboy and I've never coveted clothes like that for myself but I know the hours that must have gone into making them and I'd hoped to pass them (and the memories) on. I can't blame anybody but myself for storing them badly.

Tai Chi,
If I found my Barbie collection ruined, I'd cry too. I collect and have been since I was 10 (keeping them in the boxes collecting)

Wow, yours must be worth a mint. (Hang on, not implying you're old, referring to the boxes bit Very Happy ). Oh, and let me add my congratulations on your exciting news! (Hope you've got in a supply of soda crackers.)

I cried when I was leaving the guy I had been with for a whole week in HK. But that was when I came back to my hotel so that I had some privacy.

Oh man. Such stories......

I do feel more able to release my broken bowl now and I thank you all for that.

It was a very special bowl but in the overall scheme of things it was just a bowl.

I cried over a watch when I was freshly broken up with the Monster, an ex of 8 years. He gave me that watch on my birthday, it broke just about the time i was moving out of our apartment. i got it fixed, but it broke again within 2 days (got wet in the rain). i brought it back to the shop and the woman started giving me a lecture and she looked like they aren't gonna fix it. i started sobbing hysterically right there, because i just couldn't bear having everything broken at the same time...
they fixed it for free that same day Laughing
