As you all know, Gus is as old as dirt. He's lived through most of the major events in US history. One of his finest hours occured when he was a younger man during the prohibition when he selflessly gave himself up to the fight against evil alcohol. Here is rare footage of Gustav at that time...

Gus saved my life once.

I was about to end it all by jumping off a cliff....but than, far beloe, I saw Gus beckoning with an evil leer on his face, and I imagined him doing unspeakable things to my little, white, furry body as I lay dead.

And so, I chose life.

I caught up with gustav and his favorite grandson while they were
waiting for the local Greyhound bus.

I assume that Gus is short for gustatory, so that our man is aflame with food needs. This gets in the way of his apparent need to float in marshes.
Or, as the case may be, Marshas.

Nonsense.

If you cross both of us at the same time you get a furious rabbit who will thump you, and a rabid swamp dweller who will do unspeakable things to you once you are down.

I admire Gus without reservation and have often contemplated how pleasant it would be to pass an evening with him in the deep recesses of the swamp with some Blue Ribbon, a case of astroglide, The Queen Mother and Janet Reno.

They've been known to attack Presidents. Carter can attest to that!

You know, I was just over at the missing persons thread and I was going to ask whatever happened to colorbook, but then I didn't because I didn't want people to think I was stalking her, and, lo and behold, she shows up on this thread.

Where the hell have you been, colorbook?

My life has been meaningless without your presence. All the members have noticed.

They say stuff like "Gus just can't get over colorbook, can he?" and "Gus sure misses colorbook", and "I wish that stupid Ratzenhofer would die. I am so sick and tired of that bastard."
