BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (AP) - A burglar who made himself at home after a break-in overstayed his visit, police said.
Larcellus Angelo Scott, 23, had ordered a pizza and was doing a load of laundry Wednesday when Denise Bealessio returned home from work.
Bealessio, 51, arrived just as the pizza did. She turned the delivery driver away and was met inside the door by Scott.
Scott attacked, but Bealessio was able to escape unharmed. A neighbor called police, who found Scott rummaging through Bealessio's purse. He had written one of Bealessio's checks to pay for the pizza.
He was arrested on suspicion of burglary, robbery and forgery and was being held Friday in Kern County Jail in lieu of $85,000 bail.
Scott used to live next door, Bealessio said.
I always like the use of the term "alleged".
I wonder if it was his laundry he was doing or hers?
Well, they don't tell us if he likes women's clothes. So, presumably his own.
BUT, was it the clothes he was wearing, or did he come with a laundry bag? Seems to me, it would be a lot less stressful to just go down to the local laundrymat.
Wrench? Check.
Wire cutters? Check.
Flashlight? Check.
Blueprints of house? Check.
Snuggle fabric softener? Check.
Clean underwear? You know what mom always used to say!

Burglar takes rug, redecorates home
A person who recently burglarized a residence in the South Capitol neighborhood apparently didn't like the home's decor, according to a police report.
The unknown person entered the residence in the 100 block of West Berger Street between 11 a.m. Sunday and 4:30 p.m. Wednesday and stole a Persian rug valued at $500 and a ceramic pitcher, then "rearranged items" in the home, the report says.
The person also stole two blankets from the house but replaced them with two "very used and worn out blankets," the report says.
I need a burglar who'll do the dishes and make the beds...
