@jespah,
That is one of my favorites Jespah- his vocals on that just KICK ASS!! That whole album is just a running masterpiece (in my opinon)- except for Born to Run (the song - funny thing is that's the only song on that album I can't listen to - I think they just overplayed it on the radio) but I'll never forget Roberta Riccio telling me about this guy named Bruce Springsteen and I said , 'I think my brother has that album' and he did and I asked him if I could listen to it and he said, 'You can have it - I don't like it,' (you either love Bruce or hate him) and he gave it to me and that was that.

He's always made me happy - what more can you ask of a musician?

Happy Birthday Bruce!

@aidan,
It's not Bruce's birthday but it's almost Thanksgiving and I'm giving thanks that someone FINALLY posted this song by Bruce - one of my all -time favorites by him - I have no idea why - I just like it:

@aidan,
Joseph always loved that song too - and this was his very favorite as a little boy:

(I have a cassette tape of him singing it when he was about three- so cute)

@aidan,
My theme for this new year:

On a rattlesnake speedway in the Utah desert
I pick up my money and head back into town
Driving cross the Waynesboro county line
I got the radio on and I'm just killing time
Working all day in my daddy's garage
Driving all night chasing some mirage
Pretty soon little girl I'm gonna take charge

CHORUS
The dogs on Main Street howl
'cause they understand
If I could take one moment into my hands
Mister I ain't a boy, no I'm a man
And I believe in a promised land

I've done my best to live the right way
I get up every morning and go to work each day
But your eyes go blind and your blood runs cold
Sometimes I feel so weak I just want to explode
Explode and tear this whole town apart
Take a knife and cut this pain from my heart
Find somebody itching for something to start

CHORUS

There's a dark cloud rising from the desert floor
I packed my bags and I'm heading straight into the storm
Gonna be a twister to blow everything down
That ain't got the faith to stand its ground
Blow away the dreams that tear you apart
Blow away the dreams that break your heart
Blow away the lies that leave you nothing but lost and brokenhearted

CHORUS
I believe in a promised land...

Another birthday for Bruce- yesterday here- but today still there I guess (as this comes up the 23d of September even though it's now the 24th where I am)
I didn't forget - I listened to him all day long - still listening now - but I did forget about this thread.
Another favorite by Bruce - who I'm so thankful was born and lived to make music.
Happy Birthday Bruce!

@jespah,
Good morning jespah. That's one of my top 50 favorites by him - it's ridiculous I know - but I have so many favorites for so many reasons - but Thuder Road - that's iconic Bruce for sure.

Here's Bruce in his most beautiful prime - in my opinion. I also love the words in this song- especially, 'We're all riders on this train.' I love this whole album - which was pretty much overlooked. It's one of my favorites by him.

He's looking pretty damn good here too - although he doesn't have the e-street guys and the stand in messes up the harmony - at first - it gets better though.
This video is a prize - just for his smile. I LOVE Jersey! It'll always be in my blood.

And I found this, although us Jersey riff-raff probably wouldn't allow hitler in, although if he did get in, he'd have been converted, I'm sure :

I forgot his birthday this year - but I found this. Is it my imagination or is Bruce starting to look like Robert DeNiro? Whatever - he looks damn good for a sixty something year old guy and he can still sing and play to beat the band- wish I had been there - two of my favorites playing together:
