Hi Kris. Don't really know. I just came across it by accident and found it interesting.

Some kind of weird little monkey, I reckon.

Hmmm... I've seen monkeys that small, but not with such wookie-ishness.

Nice guess, soz, but according to the pic I found below, it doesn't look like it.

The original photo that I came across had no write-up on it identifying the animal. So, I am truly as much in the dark as anyone else.

Well, babies often look different from the grown-ups.

Here's a picture of a baby pygmy marmoset:

They're the smallest monkeys in the world, so don't know what else your picture could be.

Here we go. It's an albino pygmy marmoset:

Excellent! Thanks for that, soz. May I ask how you found that?

I notice that is from the Vancouver Sun site, which is practically in my backyard. Laughing

Hi Reyn,

I did a Google News search for "tiny monkey thumb", et voila! :-)

Once I found out what they were, I did another search for "albino pygmy marmoset" and found more articles + pictures, like this one:

http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2006/09/images/060901-monkeys-photo_big.jpg

Only one of the two babies survived, though. :-(

Or I could have just waited for my daughter!

She walked in, saw the above picture, and said, "OH! Marmosets!!" Then she squinted a bit and said, "But I thought they were yellowish/ brownish."

Great! Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks?

Now I can go through my day knowing that I learned something new. Very Happy
