Three chances left to sing along with one of the Roche sisters under the Statue of Liberty at sunset. Gee, if I were in NYC I'd go!

From The Roches website:
"It is that time of year again. If you missed this last year, by all reports you missed a true treat. Be better to yourself this year! "

The Sunset Singing Circle
Led by Terre Roche and Marian Wilson

Come and sing folksongs, chants and rounds as the sun goes down
behind the Statue of Liberty. Everybody welcome, free to all!

WHERE: Robert F. Wagner, Jr. Park
just below the Museum of Jewish Heritage in Battery Park City

Call 212-267-9700 for directions or details

WHEN: 7:00 to 8:30PM for 7 Fridays: May 2, 9, 16, 30, and June 6, 13, & 27, 2003

JN, please do report back! I would love to go, it's just 3000 miles away, so for at least Piffka and me, we want to hear everything!

What's your favorite song by the Roches?

I think mine is The Troubles

We're going away to Ireland soon
we're going away to Ireland Ireland
Ireland soon
Ireland soon
we'll try not to get in the way of the guns
as we always do
try not to get in the way of the guns
soon

We're flying across the ocean soon
we're flying across the ocean ocean

ocean soon
I dreamed I saw my guitar
topple off onto the runway
please be careful with my guitar
whoever you are

We're leaving behind our boyfriends soon
we're leaving behind our boyfriends boyfriends
boyfriends soon
boyfriends soon
I hope they have health food in Dublin
and strawberry apricot pie
if they don't have those things in Dublin
we'll probably die

We're going away to Ireland ocean boyfriend...

Hey, Joe; at least the 3 of us who asked are still waiting for your critique on the Roches' concert! Please respond or we might be forced to do something drastic Twisted Evil  .

For the countless confused, accused, misused, strung-out ones an' worse
An' for every hung-up person in the whole wide universe
An' we gazed upon the chimes of freedom flashing.

My deepest apologies for the silence, I didn't end up going due to what seem to be an ongoing series of family tragedies.

I've marked the 27th in my Palm and WILL report back.

And (duh) I clicked on watch this topic.

Thanks, Joe, and I am so sorry about the family stuff!

BTW, Piffka, are you located nearer to Seattle or Spokane or down toward Oregon? Just curious; vacationed sometimes in Seattle/Vancouver, BC area . . .

I'm nearer to Seattle, about 30 miles south near the Narrows Bridge. You're from California? I've admired your saying that you're from the left coast. We sometimes refer to our area as the upper left hand corner. Also snorted at your Dubya quote -- funny & scary at the same time.

Piffka, I always love causing someone to snort! Check out what's posted by clicking on my "www" icon as well; bet you'll snort again!!

Yes, born in San Francisco, raised in the Bay Area, now located in San Luis Obispo. Are you from WA or a transplant? If a transplant, from where?
