Bible Study At Bars and Taverns
"Theology On Tap" Sponsored By Guinness

(AP) Eau Claire, Wis. A brewing idea by a Chippewa Falls preacher will become a reality next month when he holds a nine-week Bible study at taverns in Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls.

The Rev. Perry Polnaszek says rather than trying to deny that people are at bars, they're reaching out to them.

The discussion series called "Theology on Tap" even has a sponsorship with Guinness.

The Irish beermaker is promoting its non-alcoholic beer Kaliber.

Polnaszek says if drinkers are afraid to visit God's house, he'll bring God to them wherever that may be, even if it's at a bar.

Participants are welcome to drink, in moderation. Non-alcoholic beer will be available too.

In Polnaszek's words -- "We just don't want any bingeing or any fights."

What a great idea! Any takers?

This reminds me of the pastor who handed out baseball tickets to all who attended a particular Sunday service. Hundreds of dollars were spent on the tickets with the expectation that the Church would be filled again the Sunday following the game.

The first Sunday was full.... the second Sunday had the usual paritioners and a few who thought the tickets may still be available.

I am told that this is a true story...........
