Hello all, this seems like a very interesting forum...questions and answers everywhere...i've been to places like askme.com but after it got closed and the services were off, I couldn't really find a similar website.
Can you tell me of some ask questions/get answers websites on the net? Q & A about various subjects just like this forum and the previous askme.com one.
Thank you

Laughing I used to love a site that has a name like ask experts.com . I know that name is a bit off but try a few variations. Other than sites of this kind, you can email to virtually every library and ask them a question. Try specialized libraries too, like the branches of the Library of Congress or the Smithsonian. They secretly love to asked questions on their specialities. I once wrote the Smithsonian and asked them what day the USA came into being. We wrote back and forth a few times because I challenged them on their answers.

For science questions, try www.madsci.org (I haven't been there for a while, but it used to be useful).
answers.google.com is also an option, although you're required to post a reward for questions asked.

Do you remember why did it close? Where did it move? What happened to the experts there?
and most importantly, do you know a website which is the SAME as askme.com? or close to it? (same kind of organization, categorize, system..etc)

The owners of the site decided to drop the free aspect of AskMe and go strictly with the commercial version. Rumor had it, the free version was just an advertising feature to entice companies to use their "experts" to solve their problems..

The experts are here, there and everywhere..

HERE'S A GOOD SITE . . .
This a very good site (IMHO). Try wording your questions in different ways. Make them short and simple. I found that by using just the keywords in the query, then the answers seem more concise. For example, not "Where do the president and his wife go on vacation?" Rather, "President and wife vacation where?" Take it for a trial run, asking all different questions. This is the "Ask Jeeves" site.

Well yes this is very interesting, but what im REALLY looking for is more than just a sit for question, but a "forum" or a place where you can "discuss" a question/case/issue with an expert...pretty much like able2know..

GOOGLE SEARCH
You can do a Google search to find very specific interactive discussion sites. First, I entered "discussion sites" (no quotes) - 5,180,000 sites. At the bottom of the first Google page, I keyed in "interactive" (no quotes) - now refined to 1,870,000 sites. Next at the bottom of that page you would make a third selection, such as "marijuana use," medical problems," etc., etc. (no quotes). Keep making the selections until you get to the type of discussion site you are interested in. Give it a try and post back here to let us know what you've found. Good wishes! [/color] Smile
