Memphis Woman Turns 116

(AP) MEMPHIS, Tenn. Elizabeth Bolden of Memphis wants candy and ice cream today.

She'll probably get it. It isn't every day that a lady turns 116.

Bolden was born August 15th, 1890 and was thought to be the world's oldest person -- until the Guinness World Records people announced Maria Capovilla of Ecuador is nearly a year older. She'll turn 117 on September fourth.

Her family says the birthday lady is doing well and looking forward to her big day.

Two of her children are still living and she also has 40 grandchildren, 75 great-grandchildren, 150 great-great-grandchildren, 220 great-great-great grandchildren and 75 great-great-great-great grandchildren.

She is a member of New Wright's Chapel Baptist Church.
