nice list, i'll have to whip one up

neutral milk hotel, who knew

good choices from the lips, you might want to add this one

Buggin' [Remix] Summer's Cauldron/Grass
XTC
Skylarking

Drowning here in Summer's Cauldron
Under mats of flower lava
Please don't pull me out this is how I would want to go
Breathing in the boiling butter
Fruit of sweating golden Inca
Please don't heed my shout I'm relax in the undertow

When Miss Moon lays down
And Sir Sun stands up
Me I'm found floating round and round
Like a bug in brandy
In this big bronze cup
Drowning here in Summer's Cauldron

Trees are dancing drunk with nectar
Grass is waving underwater
Please don't pull me out this is how I would want to go
Insect bomber Buddhist droning
Copper chord of August's organ
Please don't heed my shout I'm relax in the undertow

When Miss Moon lays down
in her hilltop bed
And Sir Sun stands up
raise his regal head
Me I'm found floating round and round
Like a bug in brandy
In this big bronze cup
Drowning here in Summer's Cauldron

Laying on the grass my heart it flares like fire
The way you slap my face just fills me with desire
You play hard to get
'Cause you're teacher's pet
But when the boats have gone
We'll take a tumble excuse for a fumble
Shocked me too the things we used to do on grass
If you fancy we can buy an ice-cream cone
Your mate has gone She didn't want to be alone
I will pounce on you
Just us and the Cuckoos
You are helpless now
Over and over we flatten the clover
Shocked me too the things we used to do on grass
It would shock you too the things we used to do on grass
Grass, grass.
Things we did on grass

I have never felt compelled to buy an iPod until now. I want to buy one and send it to Swimpy to fill up with music. Then she could send it back and my days would be filled with many delightful little surprises.

How about we three make a circle.

You add five songs and send it to dj, he adds five songs and sends it to me, I add five songs and send it to you.

That would be too cool.

OK, you go first, though.

BTW, you have to get an iPod. I love mine. I've rediscovered my record collection.

I should have my new computer pretty soon. I have this one stripped down to the internet and photoshop and it is jammed to its rafters. When I get the new one I may just go and get me one of those iPod gadgets.

Meanwhile, I will try to add five summer songs to this playlist. Let me think a bit.....

That's the only song off of the album I can listen to. No. 1 son gave it to me. You'd like him, dj. He's a walking music encyclopedia.

Summertime Blues...that's what i called my playlist. That song is really the ultimate summer anthem. I'm going to check out the artist on your list that I'm not familiar with. I don't know the Housemartins or the Beautiful South.

the housemartins are an interesting little band from the 80's, only two albums and little commercial sucess they are none the less a great band, a mix of pop sound with punk politics

from the ashes of the band came the beautiful south, fronted by housemartin singer paul heaton, heaton revels in the human condition and his songs are witty and intelligent (and sometimes disturbing)

one other member of the hosemartins went on to super stardom, norman cook played bass in the band, but had always been a club dj at heart, after the band he formed a group called beats international, releasing a great album called "let them eat bingo", he went through a few other incarnations, pizzaman, the mighty mighty dub katz before settling on his current nom de plume (or tune as the case may be), fatboy slim

Well I'll be damned. I listen to some samples on mazon. They also have a video on their website (the Beautiful South, that is.) It's off their new cd. I'm going to see if I can find it the next time I'm in my favorite record store. Thanks Dj!
