Here are a few photos I took recently of the grounds around our city hall.

I like 'em. By the way, I tried to access your blog today. It said it couldn't be found.

Offhand, without studying much, I think it is adequate landscape architecture within a presumed budget. It seems so.

On the other hand, look at the land around you, and look at the product.

I don't know in twenty seconds what I'd do instead. .. and projects have various constraints that most don't understand.

Still...

So, then, I'll ask, if you were the designer, what would you do?

Ok, what are those curves doing just under a rectilinear bulding? Not that I don't like curves, but in what way do they make sense?

Back later, I saw an iffy step down...

I deep-sixed it, Edgar. I guess I'm back to posting pics here again. There seemed little point in keeping doing what I'm doinfg there.

[shrugs]

I guess I should have told ya. Sorry.

Well, Osso, I didn't really do a good job showing the overall view of the entire grounds. It really looks fairly pleasant, as far as buildings and grounds go. Lots of flowers always pretty it up a lot.

Our library is just opposite on the same grounds and is a nice design.

Next time I'm back there, I'll do more of an over-view so you can get a better idea of what it's all about.

I kind of like the mini-fountain located on the steps. something a bit different that you don't see too often.

besides inserting another building into the photo...

consider that you've been hired to do this...

Uh, lots of flowers don't count in the design world. They only mask stuff for a bit.

Not to be snotty. I'm trying to convey the art of looking and the art of "what would you do"...

and what we would do, given the problem in a blueprint and x amount of time is a perlexing and interesting question.

I'm still learning, it's been since the early eighties for me. But then I'm slow. My wish for a2kers is that we all look around.

Well, I won't be able to get city hall and the library into the same photo, as the distance is prohibitive.

They're both made of that nice brick. I really like the look of it.

Perhaps next week I'll take some more pics.

by the way, the library is to the right and wee bit further back from pic 2.

Reyn, my training is in site design, architecture. which is more and more about the land as the profession evolves. It is hard for me to shut up, especially at a city place where people have just allocated much money.

I wish I could get my hands on some groups, at the same time I am not born to be any kind of PTA president.

To translate from my quibbling, Reyn, I am not keen on your city hall and environs. But I'm an outsider.

Look at this site, and figure out what you think about it, sans the flowers.
You are probably fine with it. I don't want to change your mind.

Check in to city council or online discussions of what is coming up next in your city.

Form an opinion.

Express.

Not to get you tangled in politics. You do get to have an opinion. And it counts.
