Windows Media Player - Need Help!

Husband is trying to play a CD (trying to learn arabic), but when he loads Windows Media... it gives us an error. Says we need a DVD decoder.

We go to WM website, and it says it cost money. Husband took Arabic I a few months ago and never had a problem using this CD. We did just reinstall the entire computer, but if we didn't have to pay for it before... I would think there is a way we could play this CD again w/o paying.

Any ideas or know places where we can get this w/o paying?

Did your PC come with a DVD playback utility like WinDVD or Sonic DVD Player? If so reinstall the app. That will install a CODEC on your machine and WMP should be fine after that.

Otherwise you are pretty much stuck paying for a WMP plug-in CODEC.
